Saturday, September 17, 2011, 7:30 a.m.–12 Noon

What is Hands for Hope Day?
Since 1999, Hope Communities has hosted Hands for Hope Day, an event that brings together hundreds of volunteers from around the Metro Denver area to make an immediate impact on the community by completing service projects. The projects improve the health and wholeness of the community, unite Denver citizens around a common cause, and raise awareness about the issues facing low-income neighborhoods.

When is Hands for Hope Day?
Saturday, September 17th, 2011. Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30am and projects will be underway until around 12 Noon.

Where is Hands for Hope Day?
Opening ceremonies will take place at the Hope Communities headquarters at 2543 California Street; projects will be throughout Northeast Denver. On-street parking is available at both the Hope Communities headquarters and at project sites.

Why is Hands for Hope Day important?
When Hope Communities was founded in 1980 as an affordable housing nonprofit, it dedicated itself to creating healthy, diverse communities. Today, we still believe in the importance of community-building, and the more hands that help, the more difference we can make. We designed Hands for Hope Day to be a short-commitment, long-impact event that addresses the many needs of low-income communities. What a difference a day makes!

Who can participate in Hands for Hope Day?
Everyone can participate! We welcome individuals, groups, corporations, religious organizations, civic clubs, schools, and anyone else who wants to help. Teenagers are welcome too, provided they participate with an adult (one adult per five teenagers).

How can I help with Hands for Hope Day?
We need volunteers and donors! If you can spare a few hours or a few dollars, those will help make this event possible. We have sponsorship opportunities available, and are in need of in-kind donations, such as tools and food items.
