Hope Communities

Volunteer

Hope Communities is proud to offer free, on-site, voluntary programs and services to both residents of our affordable housing communities and the surrounding neighborhoods we serve. These quality enrichment opportunities are unique to community needs and demographics. Program staff work tirelessly to create an inclusive environment and promote cross-cultural understanding.

Hope employs a two-generation approach to developing resident-driven programs — helping children and adults to gain the education, skills and support services they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency and become actively engaged members of the community.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Hope Communities — we are grateful for your support. If you would like to know more about volunteer opportunities at Hope, please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form below and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch. Please note that not all volunteer opportunities are currently available due to COVID-19.

Youth Programs

Our youth programs volunteers serve as role models and help create a fun, safe environment for children, pre-teens, and teens to build healthy relationships and explore ideas and feelings about themselves and others through academics, play, and activities. This position will assist programs at Hope Communities’ properties in North Park Hill and East Colfax.

Events & Special Projects

Hope Communities hosts various special events throughout the year and are always looking for extra support. Our events include our annual Holiday Treasure Store, Hope for the Future, Back-to-school supply drive, and community block parties. Time commitment and involvement will vary by project and volunteer interest. We are always looking for individuals with unique skills and talents to join us. We occasionally need volunteers to provide administrative support, fundraising, IT support, and more.

Food Distribution

Since the start of the pandemic, Hope Communities has been providing our residents with fresh fruit, vegetables and other staple items. We need volunteers to help repackage and distribute food out to our residents. Food Distribution are every other Wednesdays from 9:30am to 11:30am. Please note — this event is outdoors, and volunteers are required to wear a mask.
